When sunlight falls on the solar panels it produces direct current (DC) which then feeds the motor to pump out the water (please see Figure 1, and Figure 2).
Liban Energy Africa And Infrastructure Limited, came up with DC solar water pump solution without backup (Please see Figure 1, and Figure 2).
This solution is for the clients who wants to pump water only during the day when the sun is available. The solar water pump is used for extracting water from ponds, rivers, bore-wells or other sources of water which are then used to meet the water requirements for irrigation, community water supply, livestock and other purposes.

• The flow rate is 700 Liter per day at 40m head with 7 hours of pumping
• This pump has a built-in controller

Liban Energy Africa And Infrastructure Limited, understands that the rural communities who are not connected to the grid have similar basic needs as the people in the cities. We came up with a solar solution (Please see Figure 3) which we believe that will improve the lives of the small-scale farmers:
1. This solution will give them the privilege to pump water from the water sources such as ponds, rivers, bore-wells which are then used for irrigation, community water supply, livestock and other purposes.
2. It will also run the basic DC electric house hold appliances using solar energy.
3. When the is sun is not available specially during the night battery and solar charge controller act as a backup system.
We would advise the rural communities to use large water tank to fill up with as much water possible during the day when the sun is available so night time they use the battery backup for the house hold appliances such as TV, and the Fridge etc.Figure below (Figure 5) shows how DC solar system with battery backup is putted together.
Our DC solar system with battery back (please see Figure 4) consists of:
· Two panels which are connected in parallel

· One charge controller
o Model: Steca Solarix PRS - 2020 12/24V 20A Solar Charge Controller
· Two batteries of 12V 100AH which are connected in series
o model: Dayliff NP100-12-L
